Full Time Traffic Builder(Part 4)

Welcome to the final part of this series dedicated to building traffic to this site. If you are just joining us, please read the first three parts to catch up with us. Let’s get to the last two steps in this technique.

Step 5 – Post Ads to Craigslist

You will post multiple ads to Craigslist everyday. You should start with at least five different ads to use. The first two weeks  you will not get much traffic, but during the third week you should start to get a good amount of traffic. You can also post these ads to Back Pages. Back Pages is very similar to Craigslist, but not as restrictive.

Step 6 – Make Squidoo Lenses

Make multiple Squidoo lenses, each concentrating on a different keyword. Three a week is a good target and remember their can never be too many Squidoo lenses.

So there is the six steps that this lister on Elance put in his job description. They then go on to say that after 45 days they would be receiving about 300 – 400 free search engine visitors per day using the six steps in this traffic building technique.

Starting tomorrow I will begin implementing these steps and driving traffic to this site. I will refrain from doing any other type of traffic generation to give this a fair shot. Starting this with a brand new site and no traffic is a perfect way to evaluate this technique and see if it works or not.

I will be making regular posts to keep you up to date on how things are going.

Till next time…..

Full Time Traffic Builder(Part 3)

Thanks for joining me for the third part of my four part series about getting traffic to your website. In part two I covered the first two steps in this traffic building technique. In this post, we will cover the second two steps in this traffic building formula.

Step 3 – Blog Trackbacks

Along with the linkbacks in step two, you will also need to obtain about three to four trackbacks every single day from within the Yahoo and MSN networks. This will help in obtaining good rankings in Yahoo, MSN and possibly Google and will continue till the end of the project.

Step 4 – Article Distribution

You will submit one to two new articles to only the top 7 article submission directories(sorry, they were not listed) each week until the end of the project.

That is the second pair of steps in this procedure and join me tomorrow when we will cover the last two steps.

Till next time…..

Full Time Traffic Builder(Part 2)

Thanks for joining me for the second part of my four part series about getting traffic to your website. In part one I covered how and where I stumbled across this traffic building technique. In this post, we will cover the first two steps in this traffic building formula.

When I found this technique, the person who had listed the job said that these are some of the simple guidelines that my traffic builders use to build traffic to my websites and I am hiring workers to do the following.

Step 1 – Online Directories

The first thing you will need to do is submit your website to 150+ web directories in order to generate some one way links. This will be done at a gradual pace of about 10 a day and will take about two weeks to complete.

Step 2 – Blog Commenting

In addition to submitting to directories, you will also be posting three or four blog comments each and every day. This will continue until the end of the project. These links wil be from blogs that do not have the no follow tag and should be on blogs that range from PR3 to PR5.

These are the first two steps in this traffic building technique that I will be using to get traffic to MyInternetLab.com during the next few months. Join me tomorrow as we will look at the second two steps in this project.

Till next time…..

Full Time Traffic Builder(Part 1)

Late last year I was looking for different ways to make make money on the Internet and I ended up joining Elance to see what it was like and to make a few extra bucks. About the only area I was qualified for was the writing area. To be truly honest, I was quite lucky to be picked for a blogging gig in my first bid for a job. It worked out great and everybody was happy.

One day while I was searching around Elance for job opportunities, I came across a job listing that kind of intrigued me. The person who had posted the job listed the title as “Full Time Traffic Builder” and being curious I started looking over the job offer.

Much to my amazement, the job poster listed, step by step, what he expected his winning bidder to do. I thought that this was kind of strange to do, to lay out his whole traffic building campaign for all to see, but he must wanted to make sure the bidder knew exactly what was expected of them.

So I quickly wrote down his system and started studying it and was impressed with the logic of what he had written down. It is quite labor intensive, so I might not be able to match it verbatim, but I will make all efforts to do so.

During the next three posts, I will lay out this system for you and will start working on it on March 1st. Join me tomorrow as we look at the first two steps of this traffic building system.

Till next time…..

My Internet Lab’s First Project

lab.jpg With the basic ground work set here at My Internet Lab, such as a proper theme and such, it is time to decide what the first project will be.

I have a lot if ideas that I want to test out and try to make money online with, but one thing kept me from choosing any of those. Do you know what it might be? Does anyone hear me?(That is a huge hint) Give up? OK, I will tell you.

My first project to do at My Internet Lab is (drum roll please)……..driving traffic to MyInternetLab.com! Yep, that is it. There is no sense in doing a whole lot of testing and not having anyone see it. I could have done it on the side while I was doing another project, but driving traffic to a site is the most basic, needed thing that a webmaster needs to do.

So the next few posts will describe how I will drive traffic to this site and the best thing about it is that will all be done without any money coming from my pocket. That is correct, it will only cost me some time to accomplish this.

My next post will give you some back ground on where I got the idea for this technique of driving traffic to a website.

Till next time…..

Almost Ready To Go

Yesterday I was looking for the perfect theme to use for this site and was almost relegated to having to build one from scratch for myself.  After one final look though, I found this theme from guys over at AskGraphics.com, who have a nice variety of free themes and offer a pay service too.

After finding this theme I set off to make it my own and made some adjustments to the blogroll, categories and added some quick adds from LinkShare.com to see if I could do it. Well, I did and I think it looks pretty good. It could use some custom graphics and I would like the navigation buttons bigger and under the title and not up in the corner.

Maybe in the near future I can get these things done and make this site truly mine. I better quit tweaking with the theme or I may mess it up. I will be back Monday and maybe we will get started with a project in the next few days.

Working With WordPress

In preparation for starting this blog, I knew that I needed my own domain name and decided to use WordPress as my blogging platform. I have worked with WordPress before, but only as a poster, so I really do not have the experience in the back-end with all of the widgets and plug-ins.

So far, I am really impressed with the WordPress platform and how it works. Although I have discovered a lot about how it works, it is still easy to use and is very forgiving. For instance, I like this blog theme, but I found out that I could not use some of the plug-ins that I wanted. So I will probably have to go back to a standard theme and have one made and/or so some more searching among the free WordPress themes.

You may notice the blog changing themes frequently while test and find what it is I am looking for. I am open to any suggestions that you may have, so feel free to leave a comment.

My Vision for MyInternetLab

Hi All,

Thanks for stopping by and visiting MyInternetLab.com today. In this post I want to give you my vision for this blog and what I want to do with it.

First, I need to give you a little background on why I came up with the idea for this blog. I have been active on the Internet since about 1998 or so. I have always been intrigued with the hugeness of the Internet and all the possibilities that it brings. Of course, one of those is making money online.

Since I have been online, I have sold and bought domains(my most successful endeavor), sold on eBay, have done affiliate marketing, have done the read emails and such for money and alot of Internet marketing. With each one I have had to learn the ins and out of them all and have found and bought a lot of junk that did not help along the way.

About 3 or 4 months ago, I was totally confused at what I was doing, so I sat back a took a long look at what I wanted from the Internet. Being totally overwhelmed with all of the tricks of the trades, techniques and programs out there, I decided that I wanted to start a blog about all these. So, here we are with MyInternetLab.com!

What you will see here is test and trials of all the different techniques and programs and to see if they really work or not for the average Joe. This will really make me buckle down and concentrate on what I am doing. A lack of focus and always wondering off to the next big thing has contributed to many a failure before now.

I will try to make everything public and out in the open for you to see. This blog will not intentionally go out to try and prove someone or technique wrong and then rub it in their face. I will post projects and the status of each and keep them updated as much as possible.

I hope that you will come back and visit often and learn, as I do,  and together we can make some money on the Internet.
