WordPress Mini Sites Ready To Go

Hi Everyone,

Thanks for stopping by today and as always feel free to ask a question or leave a comment as it is always appreciated.

The AdSense codes  in the theme that I am using for my WordPress mini site project finally started working and that means my mini sites are ready to go.  To catch up on what has happened so far, see this post and the last part of this post. I have put final finishes on all of them and I need too add some more articles to complete them, but they are ready to go.

To see one of them, visit Classic Cars and it gives you an idea of what they are like. They all have the same design, just different titles and they are along the same niche as this. I would appreciate any comments you may have on them and as always I will keep you informed on how they are doing.

I plan on putting ads on Craigslist to get them some exposure and also article writing.

Till next time…..

MyInternetLab.com on 45n5.com’s Top 100 List!

Hi Everyone,

Yes, it is true. MyInternetLab.com is listed on 45n5.com’s Top 100 Make Money Online sites list at ………#339! I know it isn’t the Top 100 but Mark is gracious enough to list beyond the first one hundred. It will give me an unbias grading and growth of this site and I will put up a widget the Mark made to keep you updated on my position.

Another great thing about the list is that it has every great make money online blog listed all in one place. I usually go there more than I go to my Google reader to catch up on the latest in Internet business, Internet marketing and everything else that has to do with making money online. So stop by 45n5.com today and say hi to Mark!

Also, I have received five visitors from that link on the Top 100 list already in only a day and that is priceless! Thanks Mark!

Till next time…..

WordPress Niche Site Project In Progress

Hey All,

Thanks for stopping by today. I just wanted to give you an update on what was going on with the WordPress Niche Site project.

In my last post I had talked about having a little trouble figuring out Craigslist and trying not to get my ads flagged or ghosted. After reading The Ultimate Guide to Buying and Selling on Craigslist that I talked about in this post, I have a clearer picture on how to write ads that will hopefully prevent this from now on.

As far as the sites themselves, I have decided to make them a sub-domain of MyInternetLab.com for a couple of reasons. One is because it is cheaper and two, I wanted to see if it really made a difference if the site is a top level domain or a sub-domain and hopefully this will help answer that question. I think it will not if I can promote these sites correctly.

I am also having trouble with the free theme I selected to use for this project. The main page AdSense does not reflect the content and therefore makes no sense in promoting them until it is corrected. The first one I did seemed to fix itself after a few days, so I am hoping this will be the ticket for the others. Not all of the sites did this though and this was the irritating part of the problem and I could not pinpoint anyone thing that may have started this problem.

So, that is about it for now. Please leave comments or questions if you have them, they are greatly appreciated.

Till next time…..

The Ghosts of Craig!

Hi Everyone,

Just wanted to make an update and let you know how things are going with the projects.

The traffic generation project is still ongoing. I have stopped submitting to directories and have not really seen any effect from that as of yet. I wrote an article(more to follow) and have had one visitor from that article. I also, on purpose, slowed down my posts, stopped commenting on other blogs and such and I have seen a steady decrease in traffic. So this shows a direct correlation between my activity, or inactivity, on and off the blog and traffic to the blog.

I am still impressed by the results of MyBlogLog.comas I have always received decent traffic from that when I have used that. I attribute it to the catchy avatar that I use.

Now, Craigslist.org is a different story. I started using it to sell some affiliate links and such so I could get a feel on how it works. Also, I am still not sure how to market this blog on Craigslist either. Any suggestions? It is documented on various sites that using Craigslist is a great money maker and can drive tons of traffic to your site, but I have yet to crack the code. I have found one website that is a lot of help and that is Karmic Coaching & Consulting. Ian has extensive posts on using Craigslist and has been a tremendous help.

The biggest frustration, besides getting flagged and deleted ads, so for that I have experienced with Craigslist is what is called ghosting. Ghosting is when you post an ad and it shows active in your account(is green) and works in the link that Craigslist sends you when place the ad, but when you actually go into the section of the ad it is not there. WTF?

This must be some kind of internal check that Craigslist does just to let you know that you are pushing their Terms of Use and to correct it. Here is a post by Ian on his thinking of the subject.

As far as my WordPress niche sites I am still pondering the niche I want to use and along with that will be selecting a good domain name etc. So that project is still ongoing as of now. I am also contemplating making an e-book combining the two project and it would be about making WordPress niche sites and the promotion of them.

Till next time…..
