It Is Busy Being Scott Thompson on Twitter
I have been on Twitter for a long time now. I have quite a few followers but I am following more. My timeline goes by pretty quickly with tweets from fellow website owners, friends and people I am fans of. I really have enjoyed using Twitter, but as of late, everyone else is too. That includes other people that are named Scott Thompson.
One such person is the comedian from the defunct 90′s TV show, called Kids in the Hall. This Scott Thompson’s twitter name is @ScottThompson_ and mine is @ScottThompson and you can probably see the problem with this scenario now! Most people miss the underscore at the end of the funny guys name and all those tweets come to me!
It really doesn’t bother me that much, in fact it is kind of flattering, although my picture on Twitter looks nothing like him, so I don’t know why people mix us up. But oh well! Sometimes I feel like his personal assistant by tweeting back to them the correct name that they wanted to tweet to and sometimes I get a “OOPS, I am Sorry” response.
It is kind of funny and fun too. I have sent tweets to the famous Scott Thompson to give, trade or even sell my twitter account to him, but no response yet. I guess I should be happy that my name isn’t Charlie Sheen!
Has anything like this happened to you? Let me know!

Chevy Introduces The 2012 Chevy Volt
I have always been intrigued with the new technology that cars are being introduced with and the number one innovation right now is electric cars. Chevy was in the forefront in the early 1990′s when it came out with the EV-1. Although the this car was produced mainly to meet new California gas emmision standards, they eventually shelved the car stating that the battery technology wasn’t right at the time.
Now that gas prices are totally out of control now, consumer demand has forced the automakers to develop electric or hybrid cars to help with the higher fuel prices.
Chevy, along with the rest of the car makers, has come out with their electric car version called the Chevy Volt. The 2012 Chevy Volt is an electric car that also has a back-up gas engine. The Chevy Volt gets 95/93 miles in the city/highway on the electric motor and adds 35/40 MPG city/highway with the gasoline engine. The driver who drives drives less than 10 miles, one-way, to work can virtually go all week without charging the battery or using the gas engine. These results would also depend on the terrain you drive in also.
The one setback to this attractive and sleek looking vehicle is the price. With a MSRP of $39,145 it is a hefty price to pay and may not actually pay for itself in gas savings for a few years. But with a $7,500 Federal tax savings available (consult your tax consultant), this would bring the price down to less that $32,000! I love the new commercial for the Chevy Volt(see below), maybe someday cars like this will turn gas stations into charging stations, with bathrooms of course!
Another concept that automakers have developed is called a hybrid. A hybrid is a vehicle is a auto that can use regular gas or E-85 fuel or an electric assist motor too. The Chevy hybrid used on the Chevy Silverado uses an electric assist motor to help out as needed to increase gas mileage in this truck. Again, the price of this new technology is expensive, so hopefully the price will come down as the technology gets better and more common.
So do you have an electric car or hybrid? Do you plan on getting one? If you are, what kind are you leaning towards getting?

Ford Pick-Ups Fair Well on Kelly Blue Book
A friend of mine was looking for a new truck. So we went to Kelly Blue Book to get some prices on a Ford Pick-Up. Now I am not much of a Ford fan, but my friend swears on them.
He decided to look at the Ford F-150. He said he know a couple of people that have them and in their opinion they are a great truck. So we found the blue book value for a current year used Ford F-150, with a 6.5 foot bed and a 3.7 liter engine. After comparing the new truck price and the current year used price, the difference was less than $4000. Not bad considering some vehicles lose almost 25% of their value just driving of the lot.
After seeing that, he decided to go for a brand new one mostly because with incentives and a little dickering, he got the price of his new Ford F-150 down to with a few hundred dollars of the Kelly Blue Book value. Not bad at all. And after riding in it, it kind of rubbing off on me and now has me leaning towards getting a Ford F-150 for my next vehicle.
Have you ever used Kelly Blue Book? Do you have a pick-up? If so, what kind, a Ford, Chevrolet, Dodge or some other brand? Can’t wait to hear your comments.

Is Happy Wheels A Car Game?
Every once in a while I will do a search for a game to help waste some time. This time I was looking for some car games to play because I really like driving a car through some strange obstacles that you can’t do in real life, it helps me keep my insanity I guess!
Upon the completion of my search, I decided that a flash game called Happy Wheels sounded like fun! The actual search result I decided on was jerkface Happy Wheels. With a title like that, it had to be good! But it ended up just being Happy Wheels that was on a website called Total Jerkface.
Once the obligatory ad was over, I was directed to the Happy Wheels menu and I hit play. Not being familiar with the controls, I was trying to make the guy start moving on his lawnmower, I know, it isn’t a car, but oh well! Before I could get going forward, a huge combine demolished the guy, spewing body parts and and blood all over the place.
It was pretty gross…..and cool! So I was addicted. Happy Wheels has many levels and different modes of transportation besides the lawnmower like a bicycle, mine car and even a Segway. I haven’t seen any cars yet. most levels are challenging and you are definitely going to pay if you mess up! It is addicting because it looks so easy to do you can’t believe that you can’t make it through the level.
Have you played Happy Wheels yet? How did you do? Let me know!

Artists Like Kim Delaney Should Blacklisted!
I usually don’t like to talk about movie artists or popular figures, but the Kim Delaney speech from last month was so uncalled for that she should be blacklisted until she gets her act together. The speech that Kim Delaney gave was to honor Robert Gates at the Philadelphia National Constitution Center. She was reading the speech of a teleprompter(trying to anyways), slurring her words and saying things that were not true.
Now she is not the first public figure to screw up, but when you are invited to give a speech as important as this, at least be sober! She currently stars in Lifetime’s series called “Army Wives.” Which is probably why she was invited to give the speech in the first place.
All I can say is that I wouldn’t even stop to watch her do street art after this debacle! See for yourself in the following video from TMZ.

Books on Columbus Day
With Columbus Day (October 10,2011) just behind us, I was curious if there was any books on the Columbus Day or not. But first I had to refresh my elementary history some and remember what Columbus Day really is!
After doing a quick search on Google, I found some information on this holiday. Columbus Day is the celebration of the Christopher Columbus’s discovery of the New World which was October 12, 1492. It is not only celebrated in the United States, but also in most of Latin America, Spain, the Bahamas, Uruguay and Argentina. In the United States it became a federal holiday in 1937 and in 1971 the observance of Columbus Day was shifted to the second Monday of October. Got to have those three day weekends!
A search on Amazon Books revealed a book called Columbus Day, imagine that! It is a book by Jimmie Durham that contains poems, prose, drawings and speeches about how the European-Americans understands American history. It sounds like a very interesting book, but at $185.31 for a new one and $49.95 for used, I think I will check and see if it is available at my public library.
There is also a movie that shares the same name as this holiday. Columbus Day (2008) starring Val Kilmer is available very cheaply and is given mixed reviews.

Harry Potter Media Available on Amazon
In the past ten years one of the greatest marvels in literature has been J. K. Rowling’s Harry Potter series. It is a very intimate and thorough examination of the life and adventures of one, Harry Potter. It starts as Harry first learns that there is something special about him as he starts a new school for Wizards and ends as Harry Potter becoming a young man!
Amazon carries all of the Harry Potter book series in different formats as well, such as paperback, mass produced paperback, library bound and on audio. The one amazing thing I find is that none of the books are available on Amazon’s very popular media reader, the Kindle. This must be the decision of the publisher, Scholastic, and/or the author.
The Harry Potter series has also been turned into a movie series as well. All are available on Amazon with the exception of Part 2 of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows, which is available for pre-sale and will come out on November 11, 2011.
If you are a collector, here is the Harry Potter order of the publishing dates and titles of the books in the series.
Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone (September 8, 1999)
Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (August 15, 2000)
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (September 11, 2001)
Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (July 30, 2002)
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (August 10, 2004)
Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (July 25, 2006)
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (July 7, 2009)

Link Building for More Traffic
As I get ready to start promoting MyInternetLab.com and my other sites again, I was reviewing the steps to the Full Time Traffic Builder and have decided to change Step 1 a little bit. I know that promoting sites by link building works and works well. MyInternetLab.com became a PR-3 website with not a whole lot of traffic but with good link building. I am also starting this at a good time as this sites page rank has fallen to a PR-2!
Today I want to touch on what I will be changing in the link building step of the Full Time Traffic Builder and why. As it stands now, Step 1 has you submitting your site to web directories at a rate of ten a day. This is slow, but I believe to be a unnatural build up of links and may tip off Google and end up penalizing you for it.
The way Google looks at link building is it wants to see a natural progression in the links going to your site. A huge influx all at once will definitely set of alarms. So I will be spreading out the links over a longer period of time and listing fewer each day also. You can do this yourself or even have monthly link building services to this for you. I will opt to do it myself for now, but may have a service do it in the future.
Other than that change to link building, the rest of the Full Time Traffic Builder will stay the same. I will keep you updated as I progress in this project!

Full Time Traffic Builder – Revisited
Hi All!
As you can see my Fiverr.com gigs were rolling right along at a pretty good pace, then it stopped. I am hoping for some more gigs to be awarded, so that means some more site reviews!
In this post I am going to do a little rewinding and take a look back a series of posts I did a while back. If you go to the Full Time Traffic Builder post you can review what it was about and how I was going to use it.
I plan to use this Full Time Traffic Builder to help gain traffic to some of the new sites that I have just started. They include: True Fit Convertible Car Seat, The Bum Blogger, Michigan Free Classified Ads, MIL Article Directory and Left Handed Compound Bow. These sites have virtually no traffic, so they would make great canidates for the Full Time Traffic Builder.
I will update here from time to time on the progress of the traffic for these sites. If you have any questions please feel free to add a comment an dwe will respond to it as quick as we can!
